The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has agreed to hear the case of the Morgan Hill school district kicking out students wearing American Flag T-Shirts on Cinco de Mayo in 2010.
Kendall Jones, Joy Jones and Dianna Dariano are long since gone from the highs school. For that matter the principle and assistant principle are also gone. The bad feelings are not, nor is the issue.
Morgan Hill school officials still maintain that sending the students home was a “necessary safety precaution” because they had the temerity to actually wear a representation of the American flag at an American high school on Cinco de Mayo.
Last year a federal judge agreed with the school.
The parents of the students want an apology and assurances that never again will the district bar students from wearing a representation of the flag. The school is refusing. And the Ninth Circuit has agreed to hear to the matter.
EDITOR’S NOTE: ‘kl2008a’ got it exactly right when he commented:
So these jerk school administrators felt they did right by suspending a few students that wore the resemblance of an American flag in an American school that is subsidized by American taxpayer dollars on a non-American holiday because they feared it would create violence? I wonder if they have suspended any other students for wearing anything that contains the resemblance of a flag from another country? Where and when will this idiocy stop. For the record – political correctness is neither political nor correct. It’s reverse racism to the max!
EDITOR’S COMMENT:
The expulsion of those three patriotic students was disgusting and disgraceful and if wearing American flag T-shirts is a cause for violence, then it's time to have separate schools for Mexican and non-Mexican students.
This is just one more example of educated idiots running our public schools and running them into the ground.
