Ken Patmon is a Houston police officer who lives in the Mission Oaks subdivision of Fort Bend County. His 18-year-old son was home alone Friday afternoon when he heard loud banging on both the front and back doors. The youth ran upstairs and got one of his father’s guns. When two intruders broke into the home and started up the stairs, the cop’s kid took aim and shot one of them dead. The other crook bounded out of the house and was seen speeding away in a dark blue Nissan Sentra.
Patmon said his son had never fired a gun before. The kid just graduated from high school and is planning to join the Air Force. It’s a damn shame he only shot one of the two home invaders and let the other one get away. Officer Patmon ought to scold his son for being so negligent.
