SWINGING DENVER COPS AND THEIR WIVES SWING AT EACH OTHER DURING SWINGERS PARTY

After one wife slugs the other at drunken swingers party, both husbands got into a swinging slugfest

Denver cops Steven Sloan and Jeremy Ownbey became close friends after attending the police academy together in 2006. It is alleged that the two cops and their wives were so close that they became swingers. For the uninitiated, swingers are married couples that exchange sex partners at social affairs called swingers parties.

According to the Denver Post, this party occurred May 19 at the Sloan home in Aurora, Colorado. After a heavy bout of boozing, Stephanie Sloan and Jamie Ownbey got into an argument. The Ownbeys were asked to leave. On the way out of the house Jamie slugged Stephanie. This led to a slugfest between Steven and Jeremy that ended abruptly when Steven pulled a gun. The Ownbeys then went on their merry way.

The Aurora cops showed up after the Ownbeys were gone. While investigating the brawl, Jeremy returned by himself in a highly drunken state. Steven said he only pulled his gun and did not point it at anyone, but Jeremy said Steven pointed the gun at him. As a ‘professional courtesy’ one of the Aurora cops drove Ownbey back to his home.

The Aurora cops reported the incident to the Denver police. Sloan, a traffic investigator, and Ownbey, a patrol officer, were placed on desk duty pending an internal investigation.

On Friday, after a two-week investigation, the Aurora police turned their findings over to the District Attorney’s office. Jeremy and Jamie Ownbey were both charged with two counts of misdemeanor child abuse because they had left their two small children at home alone. Jamie was also charged with misdemeanor assault and Jeremy with trespassing.

Four Aurora cops are also in trouble. They are undergoing an internal investigation for failing to conduct any sobriety tests on Jeremy and for failing to ask who was watching the Ownbey children.

I have always maintained that Wine, Women and Guns, not necessarily in that order, cause more cops to get into trouble than any other causes. Wine, women and guns – separately or in combination - can be cop career-killers. The Sloan-Ownbey case is a good example of that.

Oh, I almost forget to mention, it’s Wine, Men and Guns for women cops. And because of contemporary society’s demands for diversity in law enforcement, it’s wine, men and guns for gay cops and wine, women and guns for lesbian cops.
