The hallucinogenic mushroom Amanita muscaria.
The formerly great state of California has legislation in the running
that would make commercial sale and personal cultivation of "magic
mushrooms" legal under CA law. They are still prohibited by federal law
except for certain ceremonial use by Native Americans. I THINK this
permission extends only to native land, but I could be wrong about that.
