POLITICALLY CORRECT PLAY ON WORDS

We’ve gotten to the point that it’s not politically correct to cast anyone in a bad light, including persons suspected of committing a crime. The term ‘Person of Interest’ is just one more example of politically correct nonsense.

A veteran law enforcement officer sent me the following comment:

“I've been working on a burglary suspect that has hit several car lots, storage facilities, and RV's. He was busy. We locked him up last week. However, one local cop called him a ‘serial burglar.’ This made him sound like a real menace to society. I disagree with the word serial being added to burglar because I have never known a thief that didn't hit multiple locations. He's just a burglar and thief.

That’s sort of like ‘Person of Interest.’ If the police are looking for you in reference to a crime being committed then you’re a SUSPECT, plain and simple.”
