Exactly 42 years ago today Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon. A few hours ago the last scheduled American space shuttle landed. America’s manned space program is, for the foreseeable future, dead and stinking. We do, however, have plenty of money to study the drinking habits of Chinese prostitutes and to exercise shrimp on treadmills. Somewhere, somehow, we have lost our way. I am unfortunately unsure that we will ever find it again and it is truly a damn shame.
