THE FILTHY RICH DON'T CLAP THEIR HANDS IN MONACO

On Friday’s NBC Today, Michelle Kosinski reported on the celebrations starting for the wedding of Monaco’s ruler Prince Albert II, who is marrying South African Olympic swimmer Charlene Wittstock.

Kosinski noted that the celebrations in the one-square mile enclave of billionaires will be much more subdued than the celebrations that took place in Britain for the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. And this is one of the reasons she gave for the differences:

Albert’s subjects do not clap their hands because their ‘jewelry is too heavy and it gets in the way.’

Suddenly, thanks to Kosinski, I really sympathize with the filthy rich of Monaco. I never realized what a heavy burden they have to bear with all that jewelry.
