Justin Bieber is allowed to plead no contest to a misdemeanor vandalism charge after causing damage of $80,900 to a neighbor’s house
When Lee ‘Pep LePew” Baca was sheriff of Los Angeles County he was recognized as Sheriff to the Stars because he showered Hollywood celebrities with favoritism. Now that he’s gone – and good riddance – it looks like the district attorney of Los Angeles County is doing the same thing.
If you recall, last January L.A. County deputies raided Justin Bieber’s mansion after a neighbor complained that Bieber had egged his house. Because the officers did not have a search warrant for drugs and drug paraphernalia, they did not seize those items that were strewn all over the house.
A week or so ago, LASO finally completed its investigation of the egging and took the case to the district attorney’s office. It seems that Bieber caused almost $81,000 in damage to his neighbor’s house. Any way you look at it, that constitutes felony vandalism, a charge for which a perpetrator can be sent to prison.
So, did the DA charge the sorry scumbag with a felony? Heavens no! Bieber got the Hollywood Celebrity treatment instead. He pled no contest Wednesday to misdemeanor vandalism. Bieber was placed on two years of probation and ordered to pay his neighbor $80,900 for the damages he caused. He was also ordered to perform five days of community service and attend a 12-week anger management program.
For Bieber, $81,000 is mere pocket change. You can bet he’ll get no actual supervision by a probation officer. And Bieber knows that if he violates his probation by failing to fulfill his community service time and anger management program, he is not going to be locked up for a misdemeanor when the L.A. County jail is overcrowded.
Am I angry? You bet I am! I’m pissed off big time. Bieber’s special treatment is an outrage. If you or I had vandalized anyone’s property and done only half the damages Bieber caused, the LA DA would have charged us with a felony, and done so without blinking an eye.
What we have here is a gross miscarriage of justice. I'm sure the DA knows the difference between a felony and a misdemeanor. That bastard ought to be impeached!
It pains me to be critical of our great country, but let’s admit it, there is no such thing as equal justice for all.
