EVEN CRIMINALS HAVE THE RIGHT TO SELF-DEFENSE

By Bob Walsh

A rather interesting homicide occurred in Antioch (CA) on February 5 between two criminals. So far it is considered to be a justifiable homicide.

Lee Lopez, 37, is the still living criminal. He was hanging around outside a Rite Aid drug store to meet his local unlicensed pharmaceutical salesman. He was approached by Richard Pareno, 27. Lopez initially misidentified Pareno as the man he was there to meet. Pareno jumped into Lopez’s car and produced a gun and began to pistol-whip Lopez in an apparent carjacking attempt.

Lopez bailed out, produced his own roscoe and started blasting as Pareno drove away. Pareno didn’t get very far, died, and crashed the van. Or maybe crashed the van and then died. Whatever. He is in any case very dead.

The cops initially arrested Lopez but a few days ago the DA kicked him loose, announcing that he would not be charged for ANY crime (including criminal possession of a firearm).

They did charge an accomplice in the carjacking. Timothy Jones, 26, is facing charges of conspiracy, attempted robbery and carjacking.

Lopez’s Facebook page describes him as a permanently disabled, stay-at-home dad and dope fiend. (I made that last part up.)

You can bet if the cops had just happened to catch some honest citizen in possession of a firearm without a permit for self-defense he would have been charged. The formerly great state of California is, in many ways, seriously fucked up.

I knew Rick and I've said from the start there's more to this story then the cops are saying. Rick was a good kid who got caught up in the wrong things but he wasn't a carjacker!!!!
Good Bye Ricky you'll always be in my heart and will be missed.
