HOUSTON MAN BUSTED BY SQUAD OF HEAVILY ARMED US MARSHALS FOR NOT PAYING OFF OLD $1,500 STUDENT LOAN

The Marshal’s service says they have between 1,200 and 1,500 more arrest warrants just for Houstonians who have failed to pay off their college student loans

Fox 26 reports that US Marshals have begun to arrest people all over the country for not paying off their college student loans. One such arrest occurred in Houston on.

Last week, a SWAT-like team of seven US Marshals dressed in combat gear and armed with machine guns arrived at the doorstep of Paul Aker and informed him he was under arrest for not paying off the $1,500 student loan he took out in 1987.

Needless to say, Aker was in deep shock seeing seven heavily armed men invade his home and ready to haul his ass off to wherever, especially since he had not received any notice about the overdue repayment for years.

However, the Marshals have a different story. They say Aker ignored a federal court order for him to appear that had been filed by the collection agency in 2006. He was sent numerous notices to appear in court, some even being stuck on his front door. And the only reason the heavily armed squad showed up is because a couple of marshals called for backup when, after they knocked on his door, Aker yelled at them, “I have a gun.”

You would think the Marshals would haul Aker off to a jail, but that’s not what happened. Aker was taken straight to federal court where he was turned over to a lawyer. But the lawyer was not a defense attorney! He was a collection lawyer and he made Aker sign a repayment plan.

Ah, but that repayment plan is not just for $1,500 anymore. Paul mow owes that amount plus $4,200 in interest and – get this – another $1,300 for the services of the SWAT team. That amounts to $7,000.

According to sources within the Marshal’s Service, they have between 1,200 and 1,500 more arrest warrants like the one they served on Aker just for Houstonians.

It seems as though Uncle Sam signed a contract with a collection agency. The debt collectors are going before a federal judge to obtain a judgment against those who have not paid off their student loans. Then they get the judge to order the Marshals to round up the errant former students.

What a great deal! In addition to what they got paid for signing the contract, the collection agency also gets paid for every loan repayment and they don’t even have to go after the deadbeats. All they have to do is wait at the federal courthouse for a SWAT team to dump the poor bastards in their laps.

Holy shit, this is happening under a Democratic administration. Who would have believed? I can just imagine what would happen if the Republicans were in power. Those Marshals would have just up and shot Akers when he yelled he had a gun. And if anyone dared to offer any resistance when the Marshals showed up, they would have called on their M3 Bradley Fighting Vehicles to blow those deadbeats’ houses away.

What a great country! Atta boy Uncle Sam, way to go!
