A Bronx cancer surgeon was busted for ramming a cop in the leg with her car as she tried to avoid getting a double-parking ticket in Midtown on Thursday, police said.
Two cops were issuing the ticket at around 11 a.m. when Dr. Rachel Wellner, 40, a breast cancer specialist at Montefiore Medical Center, hit the gas and struck an officer in the shin, sources said.
Another police unit stopped her on West 53rd Street between Ninth and Tenth avenues, and she was arrested.
The injured cop was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Wellner was charged with resisting arrest, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
She tearfully defended herself Thursday night.
“I double-parked the car and got a ticket,” she told The Post, adding that she drove off because cops “used force” on her.
“I was beaten up,” Wellner said.
But Wellner’s biggest concern was the possible damage to her reputation.
“If you put my name out there, I will lose my job as a surgeon,” she pleaded.
On her website, she describes herself as “dedicated to combining compassionate, high-quality care.”
The surgeon recently worked in the Dominican Republic to help people without access to medical technology.

Another Hillary voter.
I am sure she IS compassionate, as long as you are not trying to ticket her for double parking. She's lucky to not be charged with ADW on a peace officer.
