LEE BACA COPS A PLEA

By Bob Walsh

The former Sheriff of Los Angeles has apparently agreed to take a plea deal with the feds. Baca resigned from office in 2014 in the midst of a federal investigation into how the jail system in L A was being run and allegations of interference and obstruction on behalf of high level officials within the Sheriff’s office.

Baca is pleading guilty to one count of lying to the feds during a civil rights investigation. He is the 18th LA Sheriff’s official to bite the dust as a result of this investigation. Charges include obstruction, bribery and conspiracy.

EDITOR’S NOTE: I hope they throw the book at ‘Pepe Le Pew!’ No one is more deserving of a jolt in the joint than the former sheriff to the (Hollywood) stars. But because of his age, Pepe Le Pew will probably just get probation.
