IN THEIR MINDS THEYRE GOING TO (SOUTH) CAROLINA

Well, the first primary of the 2016 campaign is over. What happened and what, if anything, does it mean.

Bernie beat Hillary. He didn’t just win. He beat her like a rented mule. More than a 20% split. Hillary’s people knew she wouldn’t win, but they really wanted to keep it under 10%. They failed. Miserably.

Trump’s “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it any more” roll is still rolling. He got more Republican votes than any Republican has EVER got in New Hampshire. He beat #2 by double. He got almost as many votes as #2, 3, and 4 combined.

Next up is South Carolina. I fully expect some thinning of the herd there. The Republican also-rans will start running out of steam (money) by then, except maybe Jeb, who could hang on all the way through and hope Trump will get hit by a bus.

The smart money is saying that Bernie will start to run out of oomph. It does GREAT with the Birkenstock and Brie crowd. Maybe not so much with real people. Maybe. Bernie beat Hillary in ALL demographic areas in New Hampshire. Bernie beat Hillary in ALL counties in New Hampshire. He ran the table.

I confess I still think that Hillary will get the nomination, UNLESS she is indicted. I believe that there is a reasonable chance that will occur. Yes, I know that money tends to protect money and power tends to protect power. A lot of rich and powerful people want to protect Hillary no matter how much of a crook she is because they are also crooks and want Hillary to protect them when / if it comes to it. They have no trouble with buying and selling access and favors because they want to be appointed ambassador to Micronesia and spend 4 to 8 years snorkeling with a protection detail. That’s human nature.

The Republican power structure STILL hates Trump and will always hate Trump. They don’t give a shit about his politics or his positions. They don’t like him because they don’t trust him because they can’t control him. They will shaft him if they can. Preferably with subtlety, from behind. If they have to it will be unsubtle. They are that worried.

Yes, the outcome yesterday was real and was substantial. I am just not sure it means anything in the long run.

EDITOR’S NOTE: In New Hampshire, the bitch did well only with the 65-years or older voters.

Bob, we may have underestimated the ‘Birkenstock and Brie crowd.’ Those are today’s voters. But I do agree with you that Hillary will be the Democratic nominee. You can bet she will not be indicted under an Obama administration.
