THE DETECTIVE AGENCY THAT GOT AWAY WITH MURDER?

The unprofessional and unethical conduct of Blue Moon’s president led to the death of Friendswood, Texas orthodontist David Harris

When Friendswood, Texas dentist Clara Harris suspected her husband orthodontist David Harris was cheating on her with his receptionist Gale Bridges, she hired Blue Moon Investigations of Webster, Texas.

On July 24, 2002, Blue Moon’s president Bobbi Bacha followed David Harris and Gale Bridges to the Hilton Houston NASA Clear Lake Hotel. Bacha then called Clara Harris to tell her where David and Gale were.

When Bacha called Clara to tell her that David and Gale were at the Hilton, she was in effect inviting a physical confrontation, even a deadly one.

Between the time of the murder and the trial, I talked to a number of law enforcement officers and a couple of private detectives, all of whom were shocked that Bacha made that call to Clara. There was unanimous consensus that it would be unprofessional and unethical for any investigator in a marital infidelity case to call a client and tell him/her where the cheating spouse and his/her lover could be found.

The professional and ethical way would have been for the investigator to present any photos and a written report of the findings to the client.

Upon getting the call from Bacha, Clara grabbed David’s 17-year-old daughter from a previous marriage and together they hopped into Clara’s Mercedes. She barreled to the Hilton. After she arrived at the hotel, she got into a physical confrontation with Gale that was broken up by David and hotel employees. The hotel employees escorted Clara to the parking lot and the Mercedes. It is reported that Clara became furious when David decided to stay with Gale instead of going home with her. She aimed the Mercedes at David and ran him down. Then she circled the parking lot until she had run over David two more times.

In 2003, Clara was convicted of murder and given a 20-year prison sentence. She was also fined $10,000. During the trial, the most damning evidence against Clara was the video of her driving repeatedly over David that was taken by Bobbi Bacha.

After having been in prison for 15 years, Clara has been granted parole. She will remain in prison about another month to receive some pre-release training.

I hope her license to practice dentistry will be reinstated, but I doubt that will happen.

Clara Davis has spent 15 years in prison. Her dentist’s license has been revoked. Bobbi Bacha was invited to appear on numerous TV shows and acclaimed one of the world’s top private investigators. Her character had a starring role in the 2004 TV Sony Pictures movie SUBURBAN MADNESS.

Clara deserved to spend time in prison but Bacha never deserved the allocates she received for her part in the David Harris murder case.

David Harris probably would never have been murdered were it not for the call Bacha made to Clara. The law enforcement officers I talked to all agree that Blue Moon’s Bacha was in effect responsible for David’s murder. This is truly the case of the detective agency that got away with murder.

The state private investigator’s licenses of Blue Moon Investigations and of Bobbi Bacha should have been revoked and heavy fines imposed for causing David Harris to be murdered. Instead, Blue Moon and Bacha profited from the murder for months and years to come.
