UNSUCCESSFUL PAROLE

by Bob Walsh

Jamal Bennett had been a guest of the people at the Curran Fromhold Correctional Facility near Philadelphia until Friday night. He was officially released from custody and attempted to carjack a 66-year old man in the parking lot. The man he tried to jack was a correctional officer who had just finished his shift. The officer pulled his gat and ventilated Bennett, who is in the hospital in critical condition but is likely to survive. The officer did suffer some modest injuries in the incident.

Bennett has been a guest of the people seven different times in the last seven years and was in custody on a probation violation most recently, as well as a weapons beef.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't figure out why someone would try to carjack somebody in a prison parking lot at shift change. How many kinds of stupid do you have to be to do that?

I'd estimate that this crook has passed through the 7th ring of stupidity.
