A 14-year old rape victim died in Paraguay during child birth. Her attacker, age 37, is in the slammer.
Under the law there rape is not a valid reason to perform an abortion, but the life of the mother can be. The baby survived the birth but the mother threw a clot and had three heart attacks before she died.
Last year 889 girls age 10 to 14 gave birth in Paraguay. Sexual violence against children is a huge issue there (obviously).
