A school district in West Contra Costa County, CA. is seriously considering getting rid of all eleven of it's school resource officers in order to enhance student safety. They weren't real clear about HOW getting rid of the school resource officers would do that. Perhaps they intend to use the money to hire eleven anti-bullying counsellors, or gang intervention counsellors, or global climate change counsellors, or something warm and fuzzy like that.
In a related note a school resource office in Maryland shot and killed a school shooter on Tuesday. Last I heard a total of four casualties including the dead shooter.
