JUST WHAT IS A CITY ANYWAY ?

by Bob Walsh

In the formerly great state of California there are two sorts of cities. There are Charter Cities and General Law Cities.

A state appeals court ruled last week that Charter Cities are required by SB54 ( the California Values Act, or CVA) to refuse to cooperate with La Migra when dealing with in-custody undocumented democrats who are not accused of a major crime.

Huntington Beach has challenged the law in court. Huntington Beach is a Charter City. An Orange County judge ruled in favor of the city. The Fourth District Court of Appeals just ruled, 3-0. that the city was required to obey SB54.

The City Attorney is asking the city for permission to appeal to the State Supreme Court.

I am waiting for the plague outbreak that the public health people say is likely to come to LA, SF, Oakland and Seattle. Maybe when people start dying in the hundreds the powers that be will remove their heads from their anal orifices and actually freaking do something about it.
