Lewis Bennett was taken into custody on Christmas Eve after trying to disarm a Chicago police officer
A 22-year-old man has been charged with attempted first-degree murder after trying to disarm a Chicago police officer, according to authorities.
Lewis Bennett is facing three felony charges, including aggravated battery, stemming from an incident Friday involving an on-duty cop, according to WFLD.
Bennett was taken into custody on Christmas Eve at the 2100 block of West Lake St. and is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing on Christmas Day.

I worked with a cop who ventilated a criminal for trying to take his gun. The criminal would pull on the gun and the cop would pull the trigger. This happened several times. The criminal gave up, jumped in his car and drove away. Loss of blood forced him to pass out on a railroad crossing. Another cop found him and saved his life from an oncoming train. The criminal survived.
I'll bet he was just trying to get the gun to pawn it to buy some milk for his children.
