GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN

It has just been reported that a major riot at a women's prison in Honduras has resulted in "dozens" of fatalities.

The principle players seem to be MS-13 and Barrio 18 at the prison in Tamara, about 30 miles from the capital city.  

One group managed to force staff from part of the prison and then accessed another part of the prison and started what was essentially a massacre.  

Many of the dead burned to death.  Others were shot or stabbed.  Seven prisoners were removed from the prison to the hospital but "most" of those died of their injuries.  

The death toll stands at 41.  

In 2021 361 prisoners died in a similar disturbance at a different prison.  Most of those died due to fire.  

The government is promising "drastic action" to find out what happened and if there was complicity by staff.
