On Tuesday U. S. District Court Judge Andrew Hanen agreed
with Texas and eight other states who filed to stop the DACA program.
Hanen wrote 40 pages, saying, among other things, "While sympathetic to
the predicament of DACA recipients and their families, this court has
expressed its concerns about the legality of this program for some
time. The solution for these deficiencies lies with the legislature,
not the executive or judicial branches."
Hanen's
action extends the current injunction against DACA. The program can
not accept any new applications, but is not required to deport anybody
in the program....yet. That might happen, or might not.
It is very likely that this issue will end up before SCOTUS.
The newly single Karine Jean-Pierre babbled incoherently
about how wrong and stupid the judges are and how wonderful Joe Biden is
and that if it wasn't for the sun rising out of his ass every morning
the world would live in darkness.
The Harris-Biden administration tried to tweak DACA in October 2022, but the tweak still did not satisfy the courts.
