U S. District  Court Judge Marc Holcomb has ruled that the state can not prevent gun shows at state owned county fair facilities.  He pointed out that the shows to not permit people to purchase guns they could not otherwise purchase legally in the state and that transfers at these shows are still made in accordance with existing state and federal requirements.  The California law effectively shut down the big Cow Palace gun show in San Francisco, which was the biggest in CA and happened four or five times a year, as well as at other facilities throughout the state.

The decision is likely to be appealed.
