ANOTHER BUD LIGHT MOMENT ?

By Bob Walsh

Scores of upset customers have since commented on the video, with many accusing Moana Bikini of 'allowing men to encroach on women's spaces'

Australian swimwear brand Moana Bikini has come under fire for sharing a video of male model Jake Young (pictured) posing in a women's swimsuit

Moana Bikini is, I understand, a well known manufacturer of swim wear from Australia.  It is owned by an "influencer" named Karina Irby.  She hired Jake Young, a somewhat androginous male model to model one of their one-piece bathing suits.  Their tag line is "Swimwear designed for every BODY."

It isn't going over so well.  Young pointed out that he is not a female and has never pretended to be a female.  He is being advertised in this campaign as a Moana Babe.

The new ad is catching a lot of noise, both positive and negative.  If you believe that any publicity is good publicity I am sure Moana Bikini will profit immensely from this move.  It will be interesting to see what happens a month or two down stream.
