Kaylin Gillis was shot dead by Kevin Monahan after she and her friends mistakenly entered his driveway
Regular readers might remember
that, back in April of 2023, a car and two motorcycles drove up a rural
driveway in Washington County New York headed to a a party. Whoops.
Wrong house. They recognized they had the wrong address and turned
around in the driveway. Nobody on the bikes dismounted. Nobody in the
truck got out. They were driving away. The 66-year old homeowners,
Kevin Monahan, came out onto his front porch with a 12-gauge double by
that time. He fired two slugs. One went thru the tail gate and cab and
seat of the pickup and killed Kaylin Gillis, the young woman sitting in
the right front seat.
It
took the jury less than three hours to find him guilty of Second degree
murder, reckless endangerment in the first degree and tampering with
evidence. It is possible he will now die in prison.
He
stated he was afraid of them. He also asserted that he only fired one
round, the non-fatal round. He claims he then dropped the gun and it
fired the second round all by itself. Apparently the jury didn't buy
it. (You would think that forensic testing could determine if the gun
fired while laying on the porch, wouldn't you?)
He will be sentenced in March. He could get 25 years as a guest of the people.
EDITOR'S NOTE: I believe the poor bastard dropped the gun and it fired the second round all by itself. I also believe the Earth is flat and that pigs can fly.

He should have just yelled at them to leave. I have cameras that allow to say, "Look up, now leave."
