LIKE THEY SAY, IT IS NOT THE FALL, IT IS THE SUDDEN STOP AT THEBOTTOM

By Bob Walsh

Police have informed the British Embassy in Bangkok, which is contacting Mr Odinson's relatives in the United Kingdom

Base jumping is not without it's hazards.  Nathy Odinson, 33, a British skydiver working in Thailand, found that out the hard way on Saturday evening.

He decided it would be amusing to jump off a 29 story apartment building in Pattaya, a resort city in Thailand.  His chute didn't open.  The tree he struck before hitting the ground did little to cushion his fall.  Base jumping is illegal in Thailand.  Of course many things are illegal in Thailand and occur regularly anyway.  He had in fact jumped from the building before.  He was making a video for social media, possibly to pimp his sky diving instruction business.
