VIOLENT ASSHOLE COMMITS MURDER AFTER RELEASE ON DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CHARGE

Ashley Vaia, 38, was apparently murdered on March 31 by her ex-husband.  Samuel Vaia, 33, had recently been released from the slammer on a domestic violence beef when he murdered his ex in her home in Deltona, Florida.  Her 19 year-old daughter discovered her body.  Ashley shared a 2-year old child with Samuel.  They were separated at the time of the incident.

Samuel Vaia had been arrested on March 23 on a domestic violence beef.  He was released on March 24 after posting bail and allegedly surrendering his firearms.  It appears that he cheated on that last requirement.  

Vaia fled after the murder but his car was detected doing 100 mph on I-95 in Volusia County.  Stop sticks stopped the vehicle at about 3:21 a.m. resulting in a rollover crash.  Vaia appears to have shot himself at some point.  He died in the hospital.
