Dolly Parton is a good person. Last year she donated a
SIGNIFICANT chunk of chain to aid child literacy. The taxpayers of
California likewise kicked down. The money was transferred to the
office of the State Librarian. Instead of just buying books or giving
the money to local libraries they set up a new NGO to handle it. The
money has vanished. No records. The state librarian, Greg Lucas, is
unable or unwilling to explain what happened to the money.
The
sum of money that is completely unaccounted for is $649,000 out of a
total chunk of about $1.2 million. They do know for sure that one NGO
spent $208,000 to distribute $5,000 in Yolo County.
Lucas
was in front of the legislature on Thursday of last week where he was
questioned about the issues. He gave John Banner responses.

"I saw nothing. I know nothing."
For
those of you who are too young to remember John Banner was an actor who
played Sgt. Schultz on Hogan's Heroes. He was grotesquely
incompetent. His basic response to any question was, "I saw nothing. I
know nothing."
Even a few Democrats are looking at this. The numbers and the situation are just so outrageous it is hard to ignore.
