SHINSEKI DID NOT RESIGN, HE GOT FIRED

Obama summoned the embattled VA head to the White House and ‘accepted’ his resignation

President Obama summoned embattled Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki to the White House for a Friday morning meeting. Earlier on Friday, Shinseki addressed a conference of the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, saying he would not defend the “indefensible” VA actions and then apologized to America’s veterans, members of Congress and the American public.

After a 45 minute meeting with Shinseki inside the White House, Obama appeared in the White House briefing room where the president announced that “"Secretary Shinseki offered me his own resignation -- with considerable regret, I accepted." Obama then praised Shinseki, running off a list of his many military accomplishments. "He is a very good man. I don't just mean he's an accomplished man. I don't just mean that he's been an outstanding soldier. He's a good person who's done exemplary work on our behalf."

Resigned, my ass! The former four-star general and Vietnam veteran is not a quitter. Obama couldn’t stand the heat generated by demands for Shinseki’s resignation by members of both parties – Republicans and Democrats – in Congress. No matter what kind of spin the White House puts on it, Shinseki did not resign, he got fired!
