Eric Bauman, until recently the Chairman of the California Democrat Committee, saw the handwriting on the wall and bailed out. He has apologized like crazy for making people uncomfortable, but is not admitting to ANYTHING except having an alcohol problem, for which he is now being treated.
I guess it is possible for a sexually aggressive asshole to be even more assholeish when he is hitting the bottle, but I don't think it is an excuse, or even a reason, for assholeish behavior.
