ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY

by Bob Walsh

In 1793 Marie Antoinette received a very radical haircut by the revolutionary forces in French. She and her late husband, the former king, were captured by the mob in 1792. The monarchy was disestablished and the former King and Queen sentenced to die for treason.

In 1923 Walt and Roy Disney formed the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio.

In 1946 ten former Nazis condemned two weeks earlier during the Nuremburg tribunals for war crimes were executed.
