ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY

In 1931, Al Capone was sentenced to prison for income tax evasion.  He was a violent sociopathic thug, and was dumb enough to not file income taxes even though he had a "legit" occupation as a used furniture dealer.  However he was not completely stupid.  He is once said to have remarked that "A pleasant attitude and a gun will get you more than a pleasant attitude by itself."

In 1989 the World Series in San Francisco was delayed due to the earthquake.  I was at work.  It was "interesting."  Never saw a reinforced cement floor flex like a small wave breaking on a beach before that..
