Virginia
has been infiltrated now for years by the splash-over from D.C.
liberals moving to get away from other, more low-class DC liberals but
still bringing their liberalism with them. Terry McAuliffe, former
governor of Virginia and road-dog to the Clintons, should be walking
away with it. He isn't.
Glenn
Youngkin is the Republican challenger who is now in a dead heat with
McAuliffe. The democraps are so scared they have even brought out Barry
to help with the election. Of course Barry had no ability to attack
Youngkin on the issues, so he tried to just belittle and insult him. It
might not work.
Youngkin
has hit on one very solid actual issue. Schools. McAuliffe has said,
repeatedly, on the record, that parents have no business deciding what
their kids are taught in schools. Surprisingly enough a lot of parents
disagree strongly.
A week from Tuesday we will know who is right.
So,
will this be a bellwether decision? Maybe, maybe not. If McAuliffe
does manage to win it could be written off and more of the same-old
same-old with a solid liberal being elected in a solidly liberal state.
Nothing to see here, move along. Even if he just squeeks by when he
should be winning by 10% or more. A win is a win.
However,
if Youngkin pulls it off it will be considered by many, especially the
Fox News Crowd, to be the herald of a coming anti-progressive wave that
will sweep the Philistines from office and from power. Hell, it might
even turn out to be true. I will be watching the returns with great
interest. I may even sacrifice a cat to the election god. Damn cats
have to be good for something.
