THE DEATH OF AN HONEST, COMPETENT MAN

Colin Powell died today at the age of 84.  His cause of death was Covid-19 complicated by cancer.  

I admit I do not know much about his politics.  He worked for both Democrat and Republican administrations.  He became a General Officer in the United States Army and became Secretary of State.  He served as a senior military and security advisor.  He was, I am told, genuinely likeable.  He could not have gotten to where he did were he not competent.  He had some significant been-there done-that time, including being wounded in Vietnam.  His thoughts and his opinions were respected.  There are worse things you can say about a man.
