If you are a denizen of Los Angles County and you want a carry permit you can reliably count on it taking 18 MONTHS to process.  The Sheriff is sniveling that they have only 14 people to process 4,000 applications per year.  Pam Bondi has just announced that her office is looking at a "pattern or practice" investigation of the L A S O for violating the Second Amendment rights of those applicants by slow-dragging the process.  The investigation will be handled by the civil rights division's Special Litigation Section.

There is currently a civil suit under way against the S O over this issue.  It will not actually be heard for about nine months.

Anti-gun idiots are describing the investigation as "frivolous" before it even begins.  That is of course to be expected.

I confess I fail to see how it could take that many people that long to process that many applications.  Unless of course the powers that be make it clear that they WANT IT to take that long.
