Fields of mirrors reflect sunlight onto two of three receivers at the Ivanpah Solar Power Facility in the Mojace Desert
A steel plant is being started up in the vicinity of Mojave, CA. It
will melt steel scrap into new construction steel, I-beams and
suchlike. It will use mostly-exclusively "green power," presumably from
the huge solar energy plant in the area, which has otherwise been a
miserable failure. This does not mean that heavy industry is returning
to CA in any meaningful degree, but it isn't nothing either.
