According to Al Gore and Greta Thunberg, global warming will have killed us all by the time this project can be implemented
It appears that the government
in the UK is getting ready to begin a modest experiment in stopping
global warming. There are preparing a geoengineering experiment to
reflect a significant amount of sunlight back into space before it even
gets to the earth's surface to combat the scourge of global warming.
One
of the methodologies being proposed would be to spray aerosols into the
atmosphere to filter the sun. Another is brightening clouds to reflect
more sunshine away from the surface.
The
Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA) has budgeted 50 million
pounds for the research projects, which will be small, controlled
outdoor experiments, if all goes well and nothing gets away from them.
Theoretically these moves would be small, non-toxic and reversible.
Theoretically.
It was
noted that a significant volcanic eruption in Iceland back in 2014
dumped a lot of sulphur dioxide into the air and that seemed to
"brighten" the clouds and cool the planet. The scientists that are
pushing this believe that, if successful, the project could be scaled up
and implemented in about ten years. If we are not all dead by then (as
Al Gore and Greta Thunberg predicted) or if the problem, if it exists,
has not self-corrected.
There
is some real fear that if planet cooling attempts are started and then
suddenly stopped there could be a boomerang effect that would actually
dangerously accelerate global warming.
