FRIENDSWOOD, Texas – A swift and coordinated response between local and regional law enforcement led to the arrest of a Houston man following an armed robbery Thursday morning at Bank OZK in Friendswood.
The incident occurred on May 29 at approximately 11:05 AM when the Friendswood Police Department received a 911 call reporting an armed robbery at the bank, located at 301 E. Parkwood Avenue. Officers rushed to the scene, where they quickly gathered witness statements and reviewed surveillance footage. The evidence led to a positive identification of the suspect vehicle, a gray Acura SUV.
Using the information, Friendswood officers tracked the suspect’s movements as he left Friendswood and traveled into Houston.
At approximately 12:47 PM, the Friendswood Police Department’s Field Support Unit, with support from the Houston Police Department, located the suspect at the intersection of Magnum Road and Dacoma Street in northwest Houston. Inside the SUV, officers recovered key pieces of evidence, including a realistic airsoft gun resembling a 9mm pistol, the bag used during the robbery, and an undisclosed amount of money.
The Galveston County District Attorney’s Office has charged Noil with Robbery. His bond has been set at $200,000.
Friendswood Police credited the quick apprehension to clear communication from witnesses, fast response by their telecommunications team, and the assistance of their law enforcement partners.
