Iran The US Ambassador to Israel vowed to be 'the last one to leave' the war-torn nation in an ominous text to Donald Trump amid fears the US is set to enter the conflict with Iran.
Former Arkansas Governor and current Israeli ambassador Mike Huckabee told Trump in the text that he 'will not abandon this post' in Tel Aviv, even as it continues to be bombed by Iran.
He appeared to compare the current moment to 'Truman in 1945' when the US dropped two atomic bombs on Japan to end World War Two.
Trump shared the text on Truth Social yesterday morning in praise of Huckabee and his patriotism.
'My
job is to be the last one to leave. I will not abandon this post. Our
flag will NOT come down... it is my honor to serve you,' he said.
Trump
said on Wednesday that 'nobody knows' what he could do next in Iran. A
fleet of US warships and bombers has been moved in and around Israel in
recent days to fortify its defenses.
All eyes now seem to be planted on Trump's next move.

In Huckabee's text to Trump, he began by
saying that 'God spared' him when an assassin's bullet grazed the
president's ear at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania in July 2024.
He said Trump's life was spared so he 'could be the most consequential president in a century - maybe ever.'
'The
decisions on your shoulders I would not want to be made by anyone
else,' Huckabee continued in the ominous message about the Israel-Iran
conflict.
'You gave many voices
speaking to you sir, but there is only ONE voice that matters. HIS
voice. I am your appointed servant in this land and am available for you
but I do not try to get in your presence often because I trust your
instincts.
'No president in my lifetime has been in a position like yours.'
Huckabee,
who lost the 2016 GOP presidential nomination to Trump, compared the
conflict's escalation to 1945 when Harry Truman dropped two atomic bombs
on Japan during WWII.
'I don't seek to persuade you. Only to encourage you,' Huckabee continued.
'I believe you will hear from heaven and that voice is far more important than mine or ANYONE else's.
'You sent me to Israel to be your eyes, ears and voice and to make sure our flag flies above our embassy.'

Huckabee's
pledge to be the 'last to leave' Israel comes amid fears that Trump is
preparing to launch strikes on Iran that would escalate the regional
conflict into all-out war. Pictured: An Iranian missile lands in Tel

to take action in Iran, many of the president's diehard MAGA supporters
have urged him not to enter the conflict and follow through with his
isolationist platform that got him elected.
On Wednesday, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson released bombshell interview clips where Texas Senator Ted Cruz appeared to admit U.S. is already actively engaged against Iranian targets.
'You
said Israel was,' Carlson said, to which Cruz responded: 'I've said
"we." Israel is leading them, but we're supporting them.'
'You're
breaking news here,' Carlson responded. 'The U.S. government last night
denied... on behalf of Trump, that we're acting on Israel's behalf in
any offensive capacity.'
Earlier this
week, both Carlson and Trump's former chief strategist Steve Bannon said
on their podcasts that striking Iran would put the US on a disastrous
path forward.
They blamed the 'deep
state' in the intelligence agencies and war hawk Republicans for swaying
Trump to support Israel's military strikes on Iran.
And
they warned the president faced the 'end of his presidency' if he got
America embroiled into another lengthy war in the Middle East.
The president bristled at Carlson's criticism, dismissing his comments at the G7.
'I don't know what Tucker Carlson is saying, let him go get a television network and say it so the people listen,' Trump said.
Shortly afterward, the president fired back at Carlson on social media.
'Somebody please explain to kooky Tucker Carlson that IRAN CAN NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON,' Trump wrote.

Huckabee is an honorable man. I can see him at the embassy with a 12-gauge in his hands waiting to repel borders. He takes the old "this is American soil" seriously I think.
