SUSAN ATKINS WILL ROT IN PRISON AND THAT’S A GOOD THING

Susan Atkins, member of the notorious Manson Family, will NOT get a compassionate release via the parole board. Ms. Atkins, who is allegedly suffering from brain cancer and is said to be partially paralyzed, requested to be released prior to her death.
Under some circumstances I might be inclined to lean towards a bit of compassion to someone who is clearly not much of a threat any more and saving the state some bucks in the process. However, my compassion has it's limits.
Susan Atkins personally stabbed to death an 8 month pregnant woman, Sharon Tate. She deserves to rot in prison, after which she deserves to rot in hell. The fact that she will die in custody, possibly in some discomfort, bothers me not at all.
The only thing that makes me feel bad about the whole thing is that, when she gets really close to the end, she will probably have very little understanding of what is happening to her, or why. That ,in my opinion, truly is a damn shame.
