On April 22 and again on April 25, NATO airstrikes hit Gaddafi’s main compound in Tripoli. Although a number of people were killed and injured, Gaddafi was not among them.
On Saturday night, a NATO airstrike on one of Gaddafi’s homes in a Tripoli residential neighborhood killed his youngest son and three grandchildren. Saif al-Arab Gaddafi, 29, and three of his nieces and nephews all under 12, were killed when at least three missiles hit the house. The Libyan leader, who was there with his wife, was not among those injured or killed. Just a few hours earlier, Gaddafi also escaped with his life when NATO missiles landed near a TV station where he was broadcasting an address.
In each of the four attacks, NATO officials insisted the targets were Gaddafi’s command and control centers and denied the airstrikes were intended to assassinate Gaddafi.
What a pack of liars! They must take us all for a bunch of fools. We damn well know that the U.S. and its NATO allies want to get rid of Gaddafi in the worst way, but without resorting to the use of ground troops. Thus each of the four airstrikes, which like all NATO air operations are dependant on intelligence provided by the U.S.military, were most certainly attempts to assassinate the Libyan leader.
I’m not at all opposed to assassinating Gaddafi, I just don’t want my intelligence insulted with a pack of obvious lies!
