Inmates at the Liberty County Jail finagled with the cable system and treated themselves to nightly viewings of a porn channel, KPRC reports.
Some jailers noticed and didn't care, other jailers noticed and reported it to supervisors who didn't care, the station said.
Another recent inmate, who also said he viewed the pornographic movies behind bars, said inmates would gather around and watch it for hours each night. He said it "made the showers hell" as inmates would act out from viewing the pornography.
Officials higher up the county chain of command were not pleased at the report and promised the practice would stop.
It had been going on since at least January, according to county e-mails obtained by the station. All the inmates did, it appears, was take the cable from the wall and attach it directly to the TV instead of going through the control box.
