After coldblooded cop killer Carl Wayne Buntion was sentenced to death again, the Houston Chronicle’s Brian Rogers reported the following reaction by his attorneys:
Defense attorneys argued Buntion has stayed out of trouble with no acts of violence toward guards or inmates since being arrested 22 years ago.
His lawyers also said they believe Texas will eventually end the death penalty, and Buntion may still be standing and may get yet another trial.
Attorney Casey Keirnan, 57, and Philip Scardino, 63, both said they expect to defend Buntion again, in about 10 years.
Scardino said Buntion, a born-again Christian, forgave the jurors for their verdict after hearing it.
"I thought that was a very bold, brave and Christian-like thing for him to do," Scardino said.

Maybe they should have crucified him, just to complete the analogy.
