Quaker State is offering to pay the Kelley Blue Book value to the owner of a car that has been driven for 300,000 miles using Quaker State oil, and the owner can keep the car.
There are just a couple of points to consider though. First, there are going to be few, if any cars still running with that kind of mileage. And more significant, a car that old with 300,000 miles on it will not be worth anything and will no longer be listed in Kelley Blue Book.
The only old car that would have any real value would be a restored antique car like one from the 1920s, but it would not be listed in Kelley Blue Book.
But you’ve got to give Quaker State credit for putting out a very clever marketing gimmick.
