IS THE DONALD TALKING HIMSELF INTO OBLIVION?

The latest poll in Iowa shows Ted Cruz surging ahead of Donald Trump by 10 points

While Trump is still ahead in the rest of the nation, the latest poll by the Des Moines Register shows that Ted Cruz has surged ahead of The Donald by 10 points. The poll was taken between December 7 and 10 after Trump had called for a ban on all Muslims entering the U.S.

Trump was quick to accuse the Des Moines Register of being biased. Then he took a swipe at Crus by questioning his evangelical credentials because of his Cuban background. Trump told a crowd at the Iowa State Fair that "I do like Ted Cruz, but not a lot of evangelicals come out of Cuba."

Then on Fox News Sunday, Trump said of Cruz: “I don't think he's qualified to be president. When you look at the way he's dealt with the Senate, where he goes in there like, frankly, a little bit like a maniac – you're never going to get things done that way.”

A little bit like a maniac? Isn’t that like the kettle calling the pot black?

I believe the more Trump talks the more he is likely to talk himself into oblivion. Even though people like what he is saying, I think they will eventually wise up and realize that the buffoon – oops, I meant tycoon – is a loose cannon and lacks the necessary judgement required of our president.

In the end, look for the fight for the Republican nomination to be between Cruz and Marco Rubio. Either one of them would be a longshot, but I believe Rubio would have the best shot at Hillary. On the other hand, were Trump to somehow become the Republican nominee, Hillary would make mincemeat out of the buffoon – oops, there I go again, I meant tycoon.

Rubio is a political insider which means more of the same.

Cruz is a by product of the Tea Party and women will not vote for him because of his stand on abortion.

Trump is self funding and doesn't belong to the beltway crowd. I like that. Even if he doesn't win, he has shaken the establishment up! He has also shown us the underbelly of the GOP. With his money, you can bet he has the intel on all of his rivals.

Sure, he may flame out. But the all rivals better be careful. It's sort of like messing with a Bobcat, a lot of people will wish they hadn't poked him with a stick.
