A Louisiana police captain has sent out a blunt message for members of a local street gang.

'You will be hunted. You will be tracked. And if you raise your weapon to a man like me, we'll return fire with superior power,' said Captain Clay Higgins in a video message, as he stood flanked by officers from more than a dozen Louisiana law enforcement agencies.

Higgins said a gang known as the Gremlins had been terrorizing the local community around St. Landry Parish, where the captain is based.

'Every one of these animals is most definitely armed and dangerous,' Higgins said of the gang.

Addressing a specific alleged gang member, Higgins said, 'You think men like these are afraid of an uneducated, 125 lbs punk like you? That's never won a fair fight in your life, and holds your gun sideways?'

'I'll meet you on solid ground anytime, anywhere, light or heavy, makes no difference to me. You won't walk away.'

'The Gremlin street gang is all bad. And the fact that they're so extremely violent, every day that they're lose is a danger to the community,' Higgins told KATC.

'I'm hopeful that the Acadiana community can make a strong stand, and by extension, perhaps the country, will hear this message and make a strong, unified stand,' Higgins said, referring to the unofficial name of a region in southern Louisiana.

The macho cop appears to be somewhat of a celebrity in the local community. His Facebook page has more than 20,000 likes and he has launched a website that sells merchandise featuring his likeness.

Higgins sells T-shirts and shot glasses with his face and name on them. Some have slogans like 'Pay Attention Son' and 'Redemption.'

The proceeds from the web store appear to go towards helping the homeless and victims of crimes.

Ten accused members of the Gremlins gang have been arrested, and police have warrants for the arrest of seven others, KATC reported.

The group has been accused of murder charges, theft and drug related crimes but the news site reported that victims would not cooperate with investigators.

The police captain now hopes that the strong message sent by the law enforcement team will lead to the capture of the seven remaining suspects, reported the news site.

KATC's Travis Guillory added that the gang has now caught the attention of law enforcement elsewhere prompting speculation that they are on the move.

Higgins claimed that the group are not hiding their crimes and often rap about them in music videos posted online.

The gang are also accused of posing with weapons for photographs that have appeared on social media as well as intimidating witnesses and victims, according to the indictment.

In CA he would be harassed by the media for being insensitive to skinny-as punks.
