That well-known child raper has been the recipient of another claim of rape of a child, this one dating back to 1972.
Renate Laner, now 61, asserts that Polanski raped her in the Swiss resort town of Gstaad. She has filed a complaint with the police in St. Gallen. The victim states that she has refrained from making a criminal charged until now as her parents were still living and she did not want to cause them distress. Both parents are now deceased.
Ms. Laner was a model and actress at the time and went to see Polanski, now 84, at is residence as he expressed interest in casting her in a film. He instead raped her in a bedroom of his home. This brings to four the number of women who have accused Polanski of rape, including the once conviction in the U. S.
