Shot dead by an illegal immigrant on a San Francisco pier in the summer of 2015, the murder of Kate Steinle set the sanctuary cities controversy ablaze.
They anticipate a job of it trying to find jurors who can afford to take the time off for the no-doubt lengthy trial and finding possibly 16 people (including alternates) who can pretend to be unprejudiced.
The trial of the illegal alien multiple felon is hopefully going to begin in about five weeks. The initial jury pool is 1,000 people. (I wonder how many are illegal aliens?)
