The cops chased an auto burglary suspect in S F in the wee hours of Friday. The suspects hit two police cars among other vehicles and finally piled in at Civic Center Plaza. One suspect was taken into custody and one officer fired on the fleeing suspect, who got into another car and fled. It is unclear from the news article if he jacked the car and driver, if it was an arranged get away or if he had keys. The second car was stopped and the bad guy taken into custody. The cops have not stated whether or not the bad guy was armed. Nobody was hurt.
The cop who had the temerity to shoot is being sent to a mandatory ten day re-education and cultural diversity training seminar.
