Isiah Fowler, now 17, is going to face a retrial on a charge of murdering his eight year old sister, Leila Fowler, in 2013.
An appeals court ruled three months ago that two of the four statements Fowler made should not have been admissible in the original criminal proceeding.
Fowler was found guilty and sentenced to eight years as a guest of the people in the DJJ (Division of Juvenile Justice) back in 2015. Because Fowler was under 14 when he stabbed his sister to death he can not legally be tried as an adult. He has steadfastly maintained his innocence, blaming the crime on the proverbial passing tramp.
