New video shows a Miami-Dade Police officer accused of beating his daughter at her school slapping the teen in the face and grabbing her hair as school workers sit nearby.
Officer Raymond Rosario, 44, was arrested on a child abuse charge in the March 19 incident, which happened at Pinecrest Cove Preparatory Academy in Miami, according to an arrest report.
The report said Rosario was called to the school after a teacher said she had been disrespected by the officer's 14-year-old daughter. Rosario then went to the school and asked for his daughter to be brought to the main office.
The surveillance video shows the teen walk into the office as she's slapped in the face and shoved by Rosario before he grabs her by the hair. He also hit her with a belt on her legs twice, the video shows. Rosario punched her in the face as well, according to the report.
The video shows at least two school employees were in the office during the incident.
Rosario surrendered to authorities on April 2. He has been suspended while the incident is being investigated. Court records showed he has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The school released a statement on Friday:
"The school followed procedure in response to the unfortunate incident which occurred in the office. The witness reported the incident to administration as soon as the parent left the premises and the school immediately reported it to the Department of Children and Families who contacted law enforcement. The school is continuing to investigate the incident and protocol.
The parent, who is a police officer and who often visited the school in uniform, surrendered himself to authorities. The person witnessing the act is an expectant mother who was unsure if the parent had a weapon. She says that at the time she feared for the safety of the victim as well as that of her unborn child."

Why anyone would willingly visit that country is beyond me.
